Phenomenal training! I am a counselor with quite a bit of training in trauma. The emphasis on the physical and self-awareness is excellent. Thank you.

"Wonderful! I loved this training opportunity. I really appreciated the thoughtful combination of practicing specific techniques and learning more broadly about the fields they come from. Emily's facilitation made me feel engaged and respected. I was so struck by how many of these techniques are embedded in arts curriculum."

This was the most incredible experience - not just in terms of professional development, but in terms of learning and facilitating genuine human connection. I am so grateful for this entire experience.

I liked that the trainings were spaced out so I could practice some things with my own five children in between sessions

HERE this NOW
Thus far, school has been rough. There aren't enough staff to cover positions, students are behaviorally "off the hook" or thoroughly disengaged, parents are more abusive than they have every been. And no one, and I mean NO ONE, wants to hear about self-care. Why? Because it's a way that we let the system off the hook for the ways in which it induces stress and trauma for educators AND students. Why else? Because it's a way to insist that educators do "one more thing" for their jobsWhy else? Because we be tired. TIRED! BUT...BUT...what if you could get regulated enough to view self-care as an act of liberation, an act of resistance, an act of courage? And what if you invited your students into those ways of being with you? Self-care isn't something you do on your own time. It's something you hold space for right in your classroom or office or counseling session. Yup...co-regulate that right there. Put down the worksheet, turn off the smart board, and then turn down the lights and do you...AND INVITE YOUR STUDENTS TO JOIN YOU in DOING What you Need to Do TO CARE FOR YOURSELF.We NEED YOU! #regulatedclassroom #herethisnow #hearthisnow ...
